Easter playful days in association with Move More Eat Well

Play in Parks is an open access playscheme based in green spaces, parks and recreation grounds. The aim of the scheme is to encourage children to return to these spaces and reclaim elements of childhood that have been lost over the last 60 years. Children now rarely climb trees, build dens, get messy or engage in other types of play that we used to identify as essential elements of a child’s life. In fact, many children don’t even leave the house during their school holidays!

This Easter Birmingham PlayCare Network (BPCN) in association with MoveMoreEatWell are working to redress this imbalance and work as advocates for the child’s right to play on St Chads Park, Rubery.

During the first week of the Easter holidays BPCN will faciliate play actiities and opportunities in the park to encourage children to use their play space. Activities for the children to get active and play will pop up across the park. With children leaving the park at the end of the day dirty, happy and full of enthusiasm to come back tomorrow. Playworkers support these children in their play as they experience things that can only happen during playful moments. Children are encouraged to take risks, problem solve for themselves, participate with others and have fun!

Come and Join us from the 03rd April until the 6th April 18- 11-4pm on St Chads park. Look for playworkers with the BPCN logo.
