Free workshop for women in the Soho Ward

‘Basic repairs and maintenance skills required to look after a home’ are free workshops being run for women in the Soho Ward area of the City.  funded by Soho Community, these workshops are for women (particularly lone parent women) of all abilities. ATHAC CIC will be available to support learners.  Refreshments will be provided

Ofsted Essential Welfare Requirements Workshops – book your place now!

Organised by Birmimgham PlayCare Network, spaces are now available to book onto the next round of workshops around the Ofsted Essential Welfare Requirements. Taking place from 14th – 17th July 2014, the aim of the workshop to inform settings of what needs to be in place to meet the requirement of Ofsted in the following area: 

Completing your Sef

 Objectives:
1. Identify specific legal requirements and those of good practice
2. Any statutory guidance that supports the requirement
3. Audit own settings practice and paperwork to identify gaps
4. Action plan – individual and setting specific

Changes to Childcare Regulations and the Impact on Play Settings – Event 08 July 2014

There have been recent changes to the childcare regulations that will have an impact on play settings particularly with regard to relevant qualifications and staff ratios.

Playwork Partnerships have invited Lesli Godfrey from SkillsActive and Chris Martin the Playwork Convenor for UNITE along with Karen Benjamin our Training and Development Officer and representatives from OOSC, to discuss the impact of these changes.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday 8th July from 12.00 ’til 2.30 at University of Gloucestershire, Oxstalls Campus, Oxstalls Lane, Gloucester, GL2 9HW.

Tea and coffee available on arrival from 11.30am but please bring your own lunch.

This event is free but booking is essential. Please contact kconibere@glos.ac.uk to reserve a place.
