BPCN makes Mini Cooper to celebrate BMW’s 100th anniversary

Over the past few months, Birmingham PlayCare Network has delivered three creative sessions utilising its internal resource The Scrapstore Birmingham for global automotive manufacturer BMW, which is celebrating its 100th year anniversary.

Collaborating with community artists

The three sessions, spanning across July and September, featured community artists collaborating with BPCN, who used materials from The Scrapstore Birmingham.

Creating the Mini Cooper and BMW i8

The materials used within the project were initially donated by BMW, and eventually resulted in the creation of a miniature scrap Mini Cooper and a large collage of the newly released BMW i8. Josh Mitchell, Coordinator at The Scrapstore Birmingham said:

“Both events were a great success, and we look forward to the continued support of BMW in our donations for The Scrapstore Birmingham.”

The resources used were a culmination of the automotive theme, with parts being previously used to transport water pumps, air filters, and protection for other engine parts.
